Conquering Everest in IENKI IENKI

WHERE FASHION MEETS EXTREME PERFORMANCE

OUR PURPOSE

At IENKI IENKI, we have always aimed to rethink outerwear by bringing together distinctive design and functionality.

Our collaboration with Ukrainian mountaineer Antonina Samoilova represents a natural extension of this approach. Known for sculptural outerwear designed for everyday life, we expanded our expertise through the IENKI IENKI Advanced Research programme to develop high-performance pieces created for some of the most demanding environments on Earth.

The project became an opportunity to test how far the IENKI IENKI design language could evolve while preserving the technical standards required by an elite mountaineer.

EXTREME CONDITIONS

High-altitude mountaineering places extraordinary demands on both the athlete and the equipment.

Extreme cold, strong winds, difficult terrain and limited mobility mean that every element must be considered with precision. Antonina Samoilova’s expeditions to the icy peaks of the world’s highest mountains presented IENKI IENKI with a new design challenge.

The objective was clear: create outerwear capable of delivering protection, warmth and freedom of movement in conditions where performance is essential.

INNOVATIVE MATERIALS

To meet the specific requirements of Antonina’s expeditions, IENKI IENKI developed two exclusive high-altitude systems using advanced materials and specialised construction techniques.

The yellow one-piece down overall was created specifically for high-altitude climbing. With 950 fill power insulation and a total weight of approximately 1.8 kg, it provides exceptional warmth while maintaining the lightness and mobility required during an ascent.

The red two-piece system, consisting of a jacket and trousers, was developed for use at camp between climbs, offering warmth, versatility and freedom of movement during periods of recovery and preparation.

Throughout the development process, the focus remained on advanced lightweight insulation and technical fabrics selected for protection against water and wind, while maintaining breathability and comfort.

THE RESULT

The collaboration demonstrates how technical performance and the IENKI IENKI design language can exist within the same product.

The pieces supported Antonina throughout her expeditions, providing warmth, comfort and mobility in some of the world’s most demanding conditions. From exposed mountain terrain to periods of recovery at camp, each element was developed around the realities of high-altitude performance.

The project reflects the continued evolution of IENKI IENKI beyond conventional outerwear, exploring how advanced materials, technical construction and distinctive design can perform at the highest level.
